GQ Australia named Alton male model of the year in 2019, and Forbes listed him in its “30 Under 30” in 2021 for Art & Style. Alton is the first black male model to walk for Chanel.
Alton, 28, was discovered on Instagram in 2015 and cast in Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 3 show. His godmother, choreographer Laurieann Gibson, helped him land a position as backup dancer for Sean Combs at the BET Awards in 2015.
After he walked for Gucci in 2017, Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld hired him for a 2018 runway show. Alton appeared in a short film modeling clothes designed by Pharrell Williams for Chanel. He also walked for Hugo Boss during New York Fashion Week.
Alton has modeled for Versace, Puma, Fenty X Puma, Michael Kors, Philipp Plein, Jeremy Scott, Tom Ford, Valentino, Fendi, Karl Lagerfeld, Louis Vuitton, Off-White, Rabanne, Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga, Zara and H&M, and BMW.
In 2022 he made his Hollywood debut playing Little Richard in Baz Luhrmann’s biopic Elvis.
