A Georgia man reportedly died from a heart attack while dragging his dead girlfriend’s body through the Alabama woods.

A motorist Called 911 to report a truck parked in the middle of County Road 86 in Lanett on June 10. The truck was still running, with one door open and the tailgate down, according to AL.com.

Deputies arrived and found the bodies of Jessica Folds, 47, of Lanett, Alabama, and Daniel Robbins, 44, of Macon, Georgia, in the woods near County Road 86.

Folds was lying on her back with her hands above her head. Robbins was found in a fetal position next to her. Robbins was Folds’ boyfriend, Chambers County District Attorney Mike Segrest said, according to AL.com.

Autopsies determined that Folds died of strangulation and Robbins died of a heart attack from the exertion of dragging her body through the woods.

Deputies found the bodies around 12:20 p.m., the Chambers County Alabama Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. There were signs of drag marks on the ground near the bodies.

“Based on the investigation by ALEA [Alabama Law Enforcement Agency] and the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, and the autopsy done by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, the female victim was strangled, and it appears the male was attempting to dispose of the body in a remote location,” Segrest said.

“He died of a heart attack while doing it,” Segrest added. “Their bodies were right there together.”

Folds is preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Folds, and her father, Keith Walters. She is survived by three sons.

A GoFundMe and obituary for Robbins have since been deleted.
